What is this study?
This project explores how cultural identity and life stressors shape health outcomes over time, including alcohol use, depression, and sleep. We aim to fill a critical gap in research about our communities which may help shape future programs to support young Asian Americans.
By participating, you’ll be part of a groundbreaking study that centers the voices and experiences of Filipino, Korean, and Indian American young adults—groups that are often overlooked in research.
Your input will help us better understand the unique challenges and strengths in our communities.

What is involved?
You’ll be asked to complete a 30-45 minute online survey every six months for three years.
As a token of our appreciation for your participation, you’ll receive $30 compensation, totaling up to $300+ over the course of the study ($50 bonus if all 7 surveys are completed).
Your participation is entirely voluntary, and all survey responses will be kept strictly confidential.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is each survey and how will I receive it?
Each survey should take 30-45 minutes to complete and are done online. After confirming your ID through our screening procedure, you will be emailed the survey and need to complete it within a week.
Are there any risks?
Your responses and information will be strictly kept confidential. We follow ethical research and university protocols.
How will I get paid?
You will receive a Tango e-gift card after each completed survey. These can be used at hundreds of stores and businesses!
Are hard copies available?
Our team has created hard copy versions of the surveys. Contact us to receive a copy.
What if I am under 18?
If you are under 18 and still want to participate, please fill out the screener by clicking ‘JOIN’ above. If you fit the rest of the eligibility criteia, we will reach out to you once you are 18.
What if I am not eligible?
If you are not 1) 18-19 years old 2)Born and living in the U.S. and 3) Korean, Filipino, or Indian, you cannot participate. However, you can still contribute by referring up to 2 people that are eligible and can earn up to $10 for doing so!
