The Next Generation Asian American Health Study is a first-of-its-kind, longitudinal, PAID ($300!) research study examining how stress, cultural identity, and community factors shape mental health and substance use among Filipino, Korean, and Indian American young adults.
Your interest and support will help us get one step closer to understanding the disparities faced by Asian American young adults, advancing science and interventions on how to best support our shared community.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long is each survey and how will I receive it?
Each survey should take 30-45 minutes to complete and are done online. After confirming your ID through our screening procedure, you will be emailed the survey and need to complete it within a week.
How will I get paid?
You will receive a Tango e-gift card after each completed survey. These can be used at hundreds of stores and businesses!
Are there any risks?
Your responses and information will be strictly kept confidential. Your survey data will never be linked to your name or identity. We follow ethical research and university protocols.
Are hard copies available?
Our team has created hard copy versions of the surveys. Contact us to receive a copy.
Why would I have to provide my SSN?
Because total compensation for this study may exceed $100, U.S. regulations require us to collect a Social Security Number (SSN) for tax reporting purposes (e.g., issuing a 1099 form).
- Your SSN will be stored securely and separately from your survey and EMA responses.
- It will never be linked to your research data.
- Only authorized university personnel will have access for payment processing.
- Your responses will remain confidential and de-identified.
What is the daily diary study?
We have a raffle where you can earn additional money! If you are selected you may be eligible for the daily diary study—where we will send you 3 surveys a day ($2 for each survey and 2-3 minute survey) across 20 days (up to $120), four times across the 3 years.
When will I receive my next survey?
You will receive an email from us every 6 months with the next survey link.
What if I am not eligible?
If you are not 1) 17-19 years old 2)Born and living in the U.S. and 3) Korean, Filipino, or Indian, you cannot participate. However, you can still contribute by referring up to 2 people that are eligible and can earn up to $10 for doing so! Visit our ‘Referral’ Page!
